Review #1: BUILD: An Unorthodox Guide To Making Things Worth Making by Tony Fadell

My thoughts on Tony Fadell's advice for entrepreneurs!

2/4/2026

Overall Tony Fadell's book, BUILD: An Unorthodox Guide To Making Things Worth Making, I think is pretty good. Throughout the book, he uses his experience and the experience of his mentors to give advice in a humble manner. Making sure every time the advice being given, if not his, credit is put where due. Learning his story and how he started to where he is now is an interesting insight to how technology today was initially developed in the early 2000's.

The way he gives advice and tells his story had me finding myself not wanting to put the book down. The advice he is giving isn't just applicable in the tech space, any entrepreneur in any field can use it. I felt I could actually do something with the information being passed on. Another thing I noticed is the book didn't repeat the same things in a different way towards the end. I have limited books like this I have read, but I have noticed that in a few of them.

If someone is staring a business or just wants to level up at their current job, this book could be help for you. I know it has been for me in regards to my 9 to 5.

So anyway, those are my thoughts on this book. Thank you for taking the time to read this review and I'll see y'all on the next one!
